I thought that I would insert a short intermission from my series of wizard cartoons. Kinda. This is a drawing that I made sometime in the early 1970s while I was going to university. I was surprised to see that even then - some 55 years ago - I was drawing cartoons and writing limericks. I guess that some things are just 'bred-in-the-bone'. I wish to point out that I've added the frame to the cartoon; back in the 70s this was not something that I had yet to contemplate.

Better weather
A magician was cycling in rain
And felt it was quite a big pain.
Summoning sun for the day,
He rode on, no delay.
Now his ride is pure joy, not a strain.

Mis-spelling
A wizard stirred potions with glee
From a spell book as old as can be.
But his brew took a turn,
And soon he did learn
He conjured a lady - eyed three!

Smoky conversation
There once were three wizards, nice folk,
Who spoke with their pipes making smoke.
With a puff, curl and ring,
They'd say everything.
You couldn't be better well spoke!

Once upon a tree
In a tree, sat a mage with a book
Reading tales with a kind, knowing look.
Birds perched near his sleeve,
A squirrel wouldn't leave,
And a raccoon snuggled close in a nook.

Shadow fright
Through the forest, a wizard did stride
With a torch casting light far and wide.
With shadows that crept
And his heart that just leapt,
He feared what the shadows did hide.

You unplugged my future!
A wizard was reading her fate
With a crystal that shone oh so great,
But his aide in a rush
Unplugged it - oh, hush!
Now the lady's filled with pure hate.

OMG the Prices!
Which way?
A unicorn pulled with great might
While a wizard slept soundly upright.
At a fork in the way
A choice it must weigh;
I hope that its guess turned out right.

Moving Day / Journée du déménagement
A wizard lived snug in a tree,
A wizard lived snug in a tree
When lumberjacks came, axe-happy and free.
With a glare and a spell
He bid them farewell,
Now they're off clipping shrubs by decree!
